Legacy Giving Opportunities
From Generation to Generation
Providing for the future of a Jewish institution is a sacred act. Contributing to the strength and viability of our community is a legacy that will impact generations to come.
There are several ways to support the future of Ohr Kodesh. Please contact Monica Saff, Executive Director, for questions and additional information on any of these opportunities:
Ohr Kodesh L’Olam/Planned Giving - Strengthen and sustain Ohr Kodesh and our future generations through a bequest, such as testamentary gifts or other planned giving methods.
Gifts of Appreciated Stock and Securities - These types of gifts enable you to maximize your contribution to Ohr Kodesh, maximize your charitable deduction and minimize your tax liability. Any gain in a long-term appreciated asset is fully taxable if you sell it yourself, but not if you donate it to OKC. Your charitable deduction for federal income tax purposes is based on full market value of the asset on the date the gift is received.
Special Opportunity for Donors Age 70 1/2 and Older - You may make gifts to OKC using funds in your individual retirement account (IRA) without incurring the undesirable tax effects traditionally associated with lifetime donations from qualified retirement accounts. Gifts up to $100,000, annually, qualify but must be transferred directly from an IRA to OKC. Contact your IRA custodian to transfer your desired gift to OKC. Please consult with tax professionals to address specific situations.
