Welcome ברוכים הבאים
Ohr Kodesh - A Place for All
A History of Spirit, Learning and Action
Ohr Kodesh Congregation was established in 1948 as the first Jewish institution in Montgomery County, Maryland. We are a warm and welcoming congregation seeking to satisfy both the traditional needs and contemporary interests of our diverse membership. We are affiliated with United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
One Guiding Principle: Community
One principle guided our founding more than seventy years ago, and continues to guide Ohr Kodesh Congregation today, Community. We are young and old and everything in between. Our members live and move along a continuum of observance and with a variety of needs. Together, we are more than the sum of our members or chavurim. We are one Community. And as we fulfill each other’s needs – spiritual, cultural, educational, and social – so we seek to fill yours as well.
Join us for a Shabbat or holiday service. Tour our award-winning religious school and early childhood program. Stop in and participate in one of our many adult classes or social functions. Come learn if our community can be your community. !ברוכים הבאים Come and be Welcome!
