Hesed Corps is an opportunity for 7th and 8th graders from the Ohr Kodesh community to come together for mitzvah and hesed (acts of kindness) projects and initiatives. These projects support the OKC community and social action projects throughout Montgomery County, MD. Hesed Corps. meets on several Sundays during the year. -

Jewish history in Gaza goes way back, all the way to biblical times. In fact, Jewish patriarchs Avraham and Isaac lived in the Gerar area of Gaza. In the 4th century, Gaza was the main Jewish port to the Land of Israel for commerce and trade. On November 29th, 1947, the UN declared there should be a Jewish and Arab state. The Arab states were less than thrilled about this. Following the decision in 1948 is a fascinating, and tragic story that will forever shape Israel's society and political world. Neve Dekalim, where our speaker was born and raised, was evacuated in August 2005 as part of Israel's unilateral disengagement plan.
