5th Grade Mitzvah Scholars Program 5785 (2025-2026)                                                                                                      Mitzvah Scholars is a collaborative learning program for parents and their rising b’nei mitzvah.                                                                        Parents should plan to attend each session unless otherwise indicated.

Join us for brunch and discussions about the Mitzvah Scholars Program, about becoming b'nei mitzvah at OKC, and about the process of becoming a Jewish Adult.

Yom Iyyun - 5th & 6th Grade Mitzvah Scholars (12:30-6:00 PM)
Students & Parents Co-Learning
Facilitator: Cantor Labovitz, Rabbi Helfand, Rabbi Glazer, Lisa Redisch, Meirav Steinlauf 
 
5th & 6th graders are invited to join us for an all-day program, starting with lunch at 12:30 PM, and concluding with Minchah and Havdalah.
Parents are invited to join their children for Minchah and Seudah Shlishit (Shabbat afternoon meal) at 4:10 PM, and to stay through the end of the program at 6:00 PM.

Families of Mitzvah Scholars are invited to join us for Kabbalat Shabbat &Ma’ariv services, followed by dinner. Our special guests at dinner will be veteran OKC b’nei mitzvah families who will share their experiences of becoming b’nei mitzvah at Ohr Kodesh

D'var Torah Writing Workshop

Join us for bagels at 9:30 and then a one-hour program at 10:00.
Learn the steps to writing a D’var Torah, followed by each student delivering a short D’var Torah in class.

Trop Class Siyyum (Parashat Nasso)
Parents & Family Invited
Fifth graders who have participated in Trope Class during the spring of 2025 will each read their text from the Torah during this celebration of learning. Siyyum will take place after Kiddush.
