Rashi's Torah commentary is so deeply woven into Jewish learning that many of his interpretations feel like they're actually in the Torah. Rashi was a sophisticated scholar responding to the intellectual and spiritual challenges of his time, crafting a commentary that would shape Jewish understanding for nearly a thousand years.
Through close reading of Rashi's commentary on each week's Torah portion, we'll uncover the brilliant methodology behind texts we thought we already knew—and discover why this medieval rabbi's voice continues to resonate in
contemporary Jewish life.
Come prepared to see familiar passages with fresh eyes and to appreciate the genius hiding in plain sight.
