Teen Education Programs 

Ohr Kodesh offers two teen education programs TZOHAR and Teen Beit Midrash (TBM) for students in grades 8th through 12th. These dynamic programs include study of original texts, exploration of Jewish traditions and contemporary responses to current issues and relationship building within the programs and across the Jewish community. 


 

A teen education program designed to bring high-level Jewish educational learning and experiences to 8th through 12th graders from Montgomery County and Washington, DC. 

The program meets Sunday nights (5:30-7:30 PM) at Ohr Kodesh and is designed to engage teens in Jewish learning that explores traditional Jewish texts, history, and culture in new ways, and brings an approach of thoughtful inquiry to Jewish study. OKC's Thursday night teen education program for students in 8th-12th grades. Teens have the opportunity to connect meaningfully with the Jewish traditions’ texts and concepts, and to develop significant relationships with Rabbi Corey Helfand and to one another. 

Each week, students begin with dinner (provided) and check-ins with Rabbi Helfand. Then participants engage in a year-long exploration into the Jewish tradition’s perspective on fundamental personal and ethical issues in society. 

Supplemental activities, including a group trip are planned to expand the themes and synthesize the learning experience. Study Topics and Details HERE.
