Will you be in 8th – 12th grade in the fall of 2024? We want you to be a part of our Madrichim program for the 2024-2025 school year to work with children 18 months - 7th grade! When you fill out the application, let us know if you want to work on Sunday mornings, Wednesday afternoons, Shabbat mornings, or High Holidays, and what age children you prefer to work with. Madrichim work with teachers and adult service leaders to bring the best religious school education and youth programming to children ages preschool to 7th grade. Members build leadership skills, learn how to plan activities, and build connections within the community. Madrichim serve as role models, teachers, and friends. All madrichim are welcome to receive community service hours for their work at Ohr Kodesh. Please check with your school to ensure that this will fulfill their community service requirements. Students in 9 -12th grades can request to be paid if they are 14 years or older. Madrichim will be paid $12.75/hr and madrichim that participate in the MATAN training will receive $15/hr. Yvonne White will be conducting a MATAN training for any madrichim that are interested. MATAN prepares madrichim to work with kids with special needs. This training is 4 sessions long with each session lasting 1.5 hours with lunch served in the middle. Session dates and times will be announced shortly. Please indicate interest on this form to stay up-to-date on details for the trainings. All new and returning madrichim must take part in ONE of two orientations at the beginning of September, and regularly scheduled training sessions during the year. You will be paid or receive SSL hours for these trainings. You will not be able to work if you do not attend a minimum number of training sessions. We will share the orientation and training dates soon. All madrichim and their parents will receive regular email communication about training, scheduling, and check-ins. Please be sure to include email addresses that are checked regularly. Application deadline is Sunday, September 1, 2024. If you have any questions, please contact Rabbi Glazer at RabbiGlazer@ohrkodesh.org.
