Madrichim/Teen Leadership Application 2023-2024

Madrichim / Teen Leadership Crew Application 2023-2024

Will you be in 8th – 12th grade in the fall of 2023?  We want you to be a part of our Teen Crew for the 2023-2024 school year to work with children 18 months - 7th grade!

When you fill out the application, let us know if you want to work on Sunday mornings, Wednesday afternoons, Shabbat mornings, or High Holidays, and what age children you prefer to work with.

Madrichim work with teachers and adult service leaders to bring the best religious school education and youth programming to children ages preschool to 7th grade. Members build leadership skills, learn how to plan activities, and build connections within the community. Madrichim serve as role models, teachers, and friends.

All madrichim are welcome to receive community service hours for their work at Ohr Kodesh. Please check with your school to ensure that this will fulfill their community service requirements. Students in 9th -12th grades can request a stipend (payment in appreciation for their efforts) if they are 14 years or older. Information about stipends will be provided in detail later in this application.

Application Deadline is Friday, August 25, 2023.
If you have any questions, please contact Rabbi Batya Glazer at rabbiglazer@ohrkodesh.org.

All new and returning madrichim must take part in ONE of two orientations at the beginning of September, and regularly scheduled training sessions during the year. You will be paid or receive hours for these trainings. You will not be able to work if you do not attend a minimum number of training sessions. We will share the orientation and training dates soon.

All madrichim and their parents will receive regular email communication about training, scheduling, and check-ins. Please be sure to include email addresses that are checked regularly.

Please share your experience working with children:

All Madrichim (teen leadership) (formerly Teen Crew)  who serve on the High Holidays, Shabbat mornings, and for ABRS Religious School, are required to attend one session of orientation and training before supervising our young people. Please indicate your selection.
By signing this, I am aware of the responsibilities of the work for which I am applying. I understand that I am not guaranteed my first choice of position, but I am still willing to work as part of the Teen Crew. I also commit to attending Crew orientation and training sessions (special arrangements can be made when necessary).
