ABRS Choice Day - 27 April, 2025

ABRS will have a choice day on one Sunday every month. Choice Day is a 45 minute program in which students will select one activity to attend. Each month, a new registration with new stations will open.

Register your children for one of the stations below.
Please read this form carefully to be certain the activity is available to your child's grade.
Activities are capped at specific numbers and are available on a first come, first served basis.

If you are singing up multiple children, please fill out this form once per child.

Ratzim l’Zichram/Remembrance Trek with Shir & Shira (grades K-7 with families)
This is a family event that takes place 8:00-9:30. Selecting this option on the chug site does not mean that you are registered for the program. Learn more and sign up at https://www.ohrkodesh.org/event/ratzim-lezichram-5785.  Each student participant must have an adult with them. Shira & Shir will supervise a “cool down” period for students after the run.

Kids’ Choir First Look: The K’tanTones! with Cantor Labovitz (grades 2-7)
Learn some songs to sing with us for Kabbalat Shabbat on Lag Ba’Omer. (There will be a second practice during tefillah on 5/11).

Snacks and Stories in the Bedouin Tent with Morah Brenda (grades K-3)
Start your morning getting cozy and reading stories about the Bedouin people, as well as other populations that live in Israel. Food will be nut-free; be sure to note any allergies when you register.

Make a Mizrach with Morah Yvette (grades K-4)
Learn about the Jews of Morocco with Morah Yvette, who has lived in Morocco, Israel, France, and America! Students will learn about and make a special piece of art called a mizrach.

Gaga b’Ivrit with Moreh Yaheli (grades K-4)
Learn the words you need to play, win, and show good sportsmanship.

Building Israel with Yael C (grades 2-5)
Learn about iconic buildings and architecture in Israel and make them out of Lego in a collaborative competition.

Rav Kook Nature Walk with Moreh Solly (grades 3-7)
Spend time in nature and learn about Israel’s first chief rabbi.

Make Watercolor Kalaniyot with Dana (grades 5-7)
Create beautiful representations of the red poppies from the south of Israel, using liquid watercolors. We will use these flowers on Wednesday 4/30 for Yom haZikharon.

Art and Identity with Morah Meirav (grades 5-7)
Through the work of Israeli artist Yael Bartana, we will discuss how we can process and connect to our identity through art. Yael Bartana explores themes connected to national identity, trauma, and displacement.

Re-set the Empty Table with Sarah F (grades 5-7)
Refresh and re-set the Empty Table for the hostages in the social hall before Israel’s national days, and learn about the Empty Table initiative from an OKC member who regularly volunteers at the Empty Table on the mall downtown.

Resting the Land, Sharing the Land with Moreh Uri (grades 5-7)
Learn how the Torah’s shmittah (letting the land rest every 7 years) and early Israeli kibbutzim reflect a deep respect for land, labor, and fairness.
