Which of the following best describes your child's connection to the Ohr Kodesh ECC? (This question tells us which forms we already have on file.)
This summer the ECC is implementing a change to the afternoon schedule for the 3/4s and 4/5s classes. At 1:00 pm, the children will have a quiet rest time for approximately 30 minutes. During this time, children can choose to rest on a yoga mat/cushion or move to an area of the room and engage in a quiet activity. Quiet activities are designed to help the children recuperate and prepare for the rest of their day. Some examples of quiet activities include guided yoga, listening to audio stories or classical music, or looking at books. Rest time gives children a midday chance to physically rest and emotionally unwind, and it also helps children to stay healthy and alert during the afternoon. Beginning at 1:30/1:45 pm to 2:30 pm, the children will be offered various engaging experiences with their teachers. Some of these experiences will include exploring different art mediums, building with open-ended materials and deconstructing items with real tools, playing board games, creating their own stories and acting them out, going on nature walks, building obstacle courses in the social hall, cooking, exploring clay and other sensory materials.
At 2:30 pm, some children will go home and the full-day children will continue with their afternoon schedule.
In case of emergency, I authorize school officials to call 911 and request that the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue transport my child to the nearest medical facility for treatment.
