Come and enjoy the classic Yiddish film “Yidl Mitn Fidl,” starring the consummate comedienne of Yiddish Theater, Molly Picon.

This is the classic folk comedy about a man and his daughter who, penniless decide to become traveling musicians.  The daughter disguises herself as a boy to relieve her father’s anxiety when they join together with another father-son duo.  

The film was shot on location in 1936, in the picturesque town of Kazimierz near Warsaw, Poland a few years before Hitler marched into Poland.  Real scenes of the shtetl with the inhabitants show the vitality and spirit of traditional small town Jewish life.
