That’s right - the last installation was 37 years ago. Join us for a weekend of celebration and community as we mark this solemn and historic moment.
Rabbi Corey Helfand’s formal installation will take place during the Torah service on Shabbat, June 18, 2022. This momentous occasion calls for a celebration to match!
Join us throughout this special weekend, as together, we will learn, dance, sing and nosh as only OKC can! There are a variety of activities - indoors and outside, for adults and kids - something for everyone.

The Celebration Begins Friday Night, June 17 Come for all or part of our special evening. We start with a special Oneg reception, followed by a musical and ruach/spirit-filled Friday night service. A Shabbat dinner (outdoor tent, pre-registration required) follows. After dinner, all are welcome to join on the OKC back patio for a spirited Tisch & L'Chaim - a chance to sing, learn, snack and enjoy libations into the late hours.
Formal Installation of Rabbi Corey Helfand Shabbat, June 18 The official Installation of Rabbi Corey Helfand will take place during the Torah service at Shabbat morning services. We hope you will stay for a Learners' Lunch, led by Rabbi Aderet Drucker, Ohr Kodesh member and Executive Director of the Den Collective. This is an opportunity to enjoy time with OKC members and friends (old and new) and study and learn as you have a relaxing meal. Age appropriate, engaging children's programs will take place concurrently.
OKC Community Festival Sunday Afternoon, June 19 Are we dancing yet? Time to play and dance outside with a DJ, games and fun for all ages! Pre-register to pick up a meal at the festival. The event is generously underwritten, in part, by the Alvin Browdy Religious School Fund and the Youth Activities Fund of Ohr Kodesh Congregation.
