The OK Salzberg Family Library is Open for Business!
Check us out when you’re at Ohr Kodesh and see all the changes in our library. Thanks to all who donated books during the pandemic we’ve expanded quite a bit of our collection:
Youth books have their own expanded section, right at the front door!
The Siddur Corner has moved to the shelf to the right of the front door. Select a book from a wide-ranging selection of Jewish study topics, pull up a cozy chair in the Howard Epstein, z’’l, corner and enjoy! Sports books have also been moved to this corner in fond memory of Howard’s love of sports – especially football! Thank you to Evan Root for this suggestion in memory of her grandfather.
New books will be displayed on top of the fiction section in the front foyer These displays will change as we add newer books to the collection along with holiday book selections.
Our OVERSIZE books outgrew the bookshelf too, so they have moved to the front of the library. This collection features many topics such as Jewish Art, Jewish History, Israel and the Cities of Israel and much more.
Haggadadot, and more Haggadadot! A wide selection for one or for a family! This collection is now in the front of the library.
Check the schematic on the front doors to find your favorite book sections, all book sections have all expanded and been relocated.
Thank you to all the hardworking volunteers and advisors who helped in this big change, Evan Root, Andrew Wagger, Liz Wagger, William Zimmet, Cesar Barberena, Stefan, Dennis Concepcion, Jerry Kiewe and Tami Lautman.
We had a great time at the book give away days with people taking bags and boxes of books. The tables in the lobby throughout the month of June provided a chance for unlimited time to peruse and to select books. Some of the books were sent to a synagogue in Louisiana, many students were able to find study materials for both high school and college studies, some went to a Baltimore minyan and many other places around the country. Our teen volunteers Kate Chernyakov and Evan Root, with help from Stefan Gill, boxed and loaded 50 boxes of the remaining books in a truck to take to a book buyer.
The Ohr Kodesh Little Library is open along the hiking trail and the playground. Take a little and give a little and enjoy a good read.
L’Shana Tovah to all and happy reading!
