All About Services and Seating:
We are looking forward to welcoming you for the High Holidays this year at Ohr Kodesh Congregation! Important information about member seating, guest registration, and youth programming is below. Please note that registration is not required for members of OKC. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our staff team.
You may join us for services in the Mayer & Ethel Lerner Sanctuary or via Livestream. For instructions on joining the Livestream, see HERE. Select services will also have an outdoor option, in the large tent in our Main Parking Lot. Seating is on a first-come, first served basis. In the Sanctuary, one seating section has a designated area where masks are required.
OKC Members: Seating is included for all member households of OKC. Though we do not distribute tickets, we are implementing a new name tag system this year for purposes of increased security and welcoming. We will create name tags for all adult members and guests. They should be worn while attending High Holiday services at OKC.
-
Members can pick up name tags for the adults in their households before High Holidays at the OKC administrative office, beginning September 18, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 9:00 am - 4:00 pm on Fridays.
-
We will also offer some pick-up times outside of normal business hours. These will be advertised to the congregation in September. If necessary, you can also pick up name tags at the High Holidays registration table when you arrive for services.
-
If it would cause significant difficulty for you to drop by the synagogue or to visit the registration table at services, please contact Hagit Leibowitz, and she will arrange for your name tag/s to be mailed.
-
If you have historic seating commitments to be honored (permanent seats) or have special seating/parking needs that require accommodations, please contact OKC Executive Director, Monica Saff, at msaff@ohrkodesh.org, by September 23.
Reciprocity: OKC members who plan to attend High Holiday services in another community may make a request for “membership reciprocity" by filling out the Reciprocity for OKC Members to Pray Elsewhere form below by September 27.
Guests & Non-Members: Seats are available for purchase; please submit a request using the form above by September 27.
-
If you are a non-OKC member but you are in good standing at a synagogue whose dues include High Holiday services, you can request reciprocity by filling out the Reciprocity for Non-Members to Pray at OKC form below by September 27.
-
Guests and non-members must bring a printed copy of their confirmation email to the High Holidays registration table, where they will receive a name tag.
-
Please wear your name tag and be prepared to answer friendly questions about your identity or to show printed guest seating confirmation emails.
All About Youth Programming:
OKC offers a variety of opportunities and formats for children: babysitting for children under 2 years old, songs and play centered around the holidays for pre-kindergarteners through 4th graders, discussions and activities for 5th through 7th graders, and more. Pre-registration is required by September 27 and space is limited!
Click the button above for the schedule and more details, or find the registration form HERE.
Please note, registration for youth programming and babysitting, requires a valid Ohr Kodesh online account. If you are not affiliated with Ohr Kodesh and would like to have your child attend OKC High Holiday youth programming or babysitting, please contact Melanie Winick.
Safety, Security, and Wellbeing:
Our community’s safety is a top priority. There will be a strong security presence monitoring our facility, our parking lot, and the surrounding area. Please be prepared to answer friendly questions about your identity or to show printed guest seating confirmation emails. We also reserve the right to check bags, if deemed necessary. Please appreciate that these steps are intended to help assure the safety and security of all.
For handicap parking and other accommodations, please contact Dennis Concepcion at dconcepcion@ohrkodesh.org by September 27.
Everything Else:
Many people have the practice of making a gift of tzedakah in memory their loved one when Yizkor is recited. If you would like to do so, please click HERE.
